1. Who has similar difficulties finding a place where you feel you belong?
2.  How did they find the strength to create their own style and language that makes them stand out but also blend in?
3. What could have been the hardest thing they had to go though as they where trying to find their identity?

Tierra y Corazon

Photo collogue: My family is the most important thing to me, they are the ones who thought me how to love and care for myself and others. When I was thinking of tierra it made me think of (my native) culture. I maintain my roots by speaking my first language  and food but at the same time I adapt to my surrounds by learning English. In the end tierra and corazon is just one way or another part of my identity.

Me

I was born in Mexico City and at the age of four I moved to the United States with my family. I have two younger brothers, Brayant and Ian, they mean the world to me. My parents are my inspiration and all of them helped me become who I am now. I decided to join this class because I feel I have lost a lot of my connection to my Mexican culture and the only way I know how to connect back to it is by dancing Salsa/Cumbia/Bachata. Within this class I'm hoping that I will get a little bit more history on my native land. I will also learn how to identify and express myself through art.
